YEAH TAKE THAT! I dunno. Ian pushed my pose even further so I did it even more! >:U -does that when she feels challenged- I still see things that could be fixed lol. Poor Pollun's back could break if I kept bending him more xDD;
hehe I gotta say Az that you've got yourself a cool little character for playing around with your line of action work. But I wanna put my two cents in on this one, maybe I'm wrong, and maybe you want to grab my two cents afterwards and cram it down my throat later, but I just want to point out something to you.
With Ians pose, although it doesn't look as pretty as yours. It gives a better understanding of balance and line of action, where as your just focucing purely on line of action. Like, I can definitly see an arc in your Newererer pose, but your trying to balance a whole character on ?his/her? knees and lower legs. Because everything in the body is swaying backwards. I roughly guess that between his knees and his feet that he's trying to counter balance 5/6's of his body on the 1/6th of his body which make up his legs, not only that but his legs (seem to me) are the lightest part of Polluns body. Considering it looks like polluns head is the heaviest part of the body, this little bumble-cat it's going to hit the ground hard.
Have a look at the different between Ians arc and yours, and you'll find that his starts off falling down at an angle, but curves inwards slightly at the end. Also his right leg counterbalances his head from its position directly underneath the head (well enough so before it looks TOO stretched)
Your Arc starts off on the same angle, but doesn't start to curve back at the end. Maybe you could get away with this pose if Pollun was more shaped like a human (with longer legs to support the rest of their weight arcing backwards), but because he has that SD shape about him, he's very limited to what he can do. Perhaps pushing his hips outwards more (to do this you only have to reverse the angle of the line connecting inbetween the legs). Notice how Ians "crotch" line is opposite with its angle to all your other drawings? It's a really easy way of shifting weight slightly.
Aanyways like I said I might be wrong, but it's how I see it. ^_^ Other than those few things, the characters really fun to look at, and he's really flexable which is great for possible slap-stick humour usage later on down the track. You're artistic abilities are amazing, with this class under your belt, god knows what you'll be capable of.
I've been drawing my whole life. My preferred style is anime/manga but I don't mind experimenting and playing around with other styles because they're all loads of fun.
